For Christmas, my very hip daughter wanted some colored mascaras. She wanted blues, reds-anything other than brown or black. While snooping through her bathroom while she was off at college, I found one of the tubes and thought, why should she be having all the fun?

So I tried on the purple mascara, thinking I would see a clown looking back at me in the mirror, but I didn’t. Instead, I saw softer eyelashes, and my green eyes popped slightly—a less intense version of the black mascara that I typically wore.

 

I grabbed these three colors. I think L’Oréal makes a solid drugstore mascara. I also thought these three colors would compliment my eye color.

 

You can see the color in the mascara, but it’s not highly pigmented. It’s just enough.
